Written and illustrated by Jacques Charmoz, this book is a satirical view of the French, their glory and foibles, their passion for food, horse racing, long vacations, and themselves. In this book, Jacques coined the word "les Aoutiens" to describe the hordes of French people who vacation in August and shut down the country. The word is now part of French every day vernacular.
